The Camp (aka the Cottage or Cabin)

We went on another long, long road trip and went up to the camp. It seemed to take all day to get there, but I’m so glad we went. I love the Camp.

On our way to the camp we stopped at the half way point and visited our friends Tina, Wade and their boy Evan. We had a late breakfast there and spent a few hours playing. Then it was back on the road. I was getting a little annoyed after a while as I felt trapped in my car seat. But Daddy did his best to entertain me until he fell asleep (poor Daddy, he was so tired) and then I fell asleep.

Once we arrived at the camp we opened it for the season. Daddy ran around getting the water, gas and electrical set up for the summer, then we settled in and relaxed after the long trip.

We spent 7 days at the camp and 8 nights. We spent most of the time playing on the beach, going on walks, throwing rocks in the lake, going on the swing and generally hanging out. I love spending so much time with Mommy & Daddy all at once. One day we went into town and visited a nursery to buy some trees. We bought one tree for each of my Grandpa’s grandkids. My tree is a white pine, which I helped plant and water.

I was sad to say bye bye to the camp and my great week there, but we had to go back home so that Daddy could get back to work. Daddy seemed sad to leave the camp as well.

I can’t wait to go back. There is so much to see and experience there.

Month in Review - May

What a busy month I’ve had. Thinking back its hard to remember all the events I experienced. It was like a whirlwind, but loads of fun.

Visit from Henri, Jim & Catherine
We had visitors come to town. Jimmy & Catherine came to Toronto from Montreal with their boy Henri. It was the first time I met Henri, but we hit it off and had fun while they visited for 3 days. Henri is a 6 months older than me and speaks French and English. He says my name in a way I’ve never heard it said before…..he calls me “Jacque”. It sounds cool.

Jer’s Birthday
Early in the month we went up to Barrie for a surprise birthday party for Mommy & Daddy’s olden day friend named Jer. He was surprised to see all of us who came up to celebrate. It was fun for me as well because all the olden folks had kids my age, so I was able to play all day with them and the wide selection of their toys. Mommy & Daddy had lots of laughs as well.

25th Anniversary for Uncle Frank & Auntie Joan
I guess May is the month of surprise parties because Daddy’s cousin David invited us to the surprise 25th wedding anniversary he was planning for his parents. They don’t live too far from us, so we walked over to visit and help them celebrate. Everyone was very nice and I also got to see my uncle Toddie and great aunt Maggie.

Play Date
Wow, girls sure can make you tired. I had another play date with my good friend Sloane. I wore a nice outfit to look my best and I showed Sloane some of the better toys I have, we played with pots and pans. After she left I had lunch but was soo tired that I fell asleep in my high chair. That is a first for me, usually I won’t sleep if there’s something to eat, but she tired me out.

The Camp

The last week of the month we went up to the camp. See the next blog entry for more details.
