Like a drunken sailor

Hot off the press - e-mailed from Julia's blackberry

Well Jake sure is a good eater and he sleeps like a drunken sailor. Seems he love to eat, sleep, eat, sleep, eat, sleep.

All is great on our end and Mom and Jake are doing well.

And the Winner is!

Congratulations to Aunt Susan who is the official winner of the "baby pool". She scored perfect on a number of the categories and very close on the birth date, weight, etc.

Here is the top three rankings:

1. Susan Felkai Levert (Jake's Aunt)

2. Elicia Poluck

3. Sally Felkai (Jake's Aunt)

Thanks to everyone who entered the "baby pool", it was fun to see your predictions.

What is his name?

We after a few discussions and a few nights of "getting to know" our new little guy, we've finally decided on a name for him. Please welcome Mr. Jake Patrick Felkai.

Now we need to determine who won the baby pool contest.

Here are some more pictures of our little guy

Home Coming!

Well after a few days in the hospital we are happy to "bring baby home". Our little guy said good-bye to all his fans at the nursing desk and set off to see the world outside of the hospital. He seemed to enjoy the car ride home and even the stop and go of Toronto downtown city traffic. He's been settling into his new home and basinette while curiously checking out his new surroundings.

We are so happy to have him home.

stay tuned

Baby Boy

We are overjoyed to welcome our new little baby boy. He was born on Monday February 23rd at 8:59am after about 13 hours of labour. He is a big little guy at 8 pounds, 6.6 ounces and 55cm in length. Mom and baby are doing very well and both resting. Thanks to everyone for the thoughts and prayers.

We're going into overtime

After 40 weeks of pregnancy, it looks like we are going into "Overtime". No activity, no labour and no baby yet. I guess he/she is comfortable where he/she is and doesn't want to come out just yet. That is ok with us for now, we are on the baby's schedule after all.

Stay tuned!

No Baby Yet!

Well it appears our little baby is enjoying his/her current environment and in no rush to make his/her apperance. We aren't overly anxious and are content to let our schedule be determined by the baby. We have three days before the predicted due date, but we will see what happens.

We are making the most of our extra time. Last night we attended the Toronto International Car Show for a few hours, and followed that outing with a night out with friends. Today we went to a friend's baby welcoming party and then went for a short nature walk (where we took the above pictures).
Tom is taking advantage of the long weekend off and we are enjoying some last minute "quiet time"...which includes sleeping in, watching movies and basically just chilling out.
Tomorrow night we are planning on having a nice dinner out to celebrate Tom's birthday (unless baby decides to surprise us between now and then).
Thanks to everyone for all your kind messages, phone calls, thoughts and prayers. We appreciate all the love and support.
STAY TUNED!!!

10 days and counting

I'm officially done work and now I'm entering "Mommy" mode. After a hectic week of organizing last minute details at work, we finally had some time to organize and prepare for the arrival of the baby. We think we have everything we need and we hope we are prepared.

The baby is doing well and still likes to kick up a storm. He/She has started to "drop" and seems to be getting ready to arrive. Our doctor says that the baby hasn't dropped fully yet, so we shouldn't expect an early arrival. Based on that information Tom was able to get out of town for the afternoon with some of the guys for one last ski day at Blue and I was able to go to the spa with some of the girls to get our nails done.

We have 10 days before the predicted due date. We are hoping the baby doesn't arrive early, but we will go with his/her schedule. Tom continues to work weekends and late nights to push these year-end financials and deadlines forward and I've been trying to relax and enjoy my last few days of sleeping-in and living on my schedule.

All the best to everyone
