Weeks in Review March 3rd to 14th

More car shopping
Over the last few weeks I’ve been helping Mommy & Daddy pick out another vroom vroom for our family. It was fun at times, but a long process. I liked all the show rooms, but could do without all the smiley car sales guys and their strong cologne. I’m happy to say that we finally settled on one vehicle and we picked it up this past weekend. Now we have more room to haul my toys around.

Gordo’s visit
Our good friend Gord came to stay with us for a few days. He was bored of his winter wonderland and needed to hang out in the big city for a while. He is really funny and makes lots of faces and noises. His face is very furry. He makes Mommy & Daddy laugh a lot, which is fun to hear.

Underground Chuchu Train
The weather has been so nice that we’ve been heading out for longer and longer walks. One day we walked all the way downtown (while I slept in my stroller). It was about a 50 minute walk. Instead of walking back home, we went into an underground tunnel and boarded a chuchu train. This was my first trip on this train which is called a "subway". It was loud and I didn’t like it that much at first. Apparently Daddy takes this train everyday to work.

Calling 911
One of my favourite things to play with is Mommy or Daddy’s blackberry. They typically lock the key board so I can’t e-mail or accidently call great uncle Pat again, but apparently there is an override button for emergencies. Well, I discovered that if you hit the buttons over and over again, you get to make an “Emergency Call to 911” and talk with a lady. When I was finished talking with the nice lady, I hung up and then a police officer called Mommy. Mommy explained that there wasn't an emergency but he didn’t see the humour of the situation. Apparently I’m not allowed to play with the blackberry anymore.

Great Aunt Ruth

Great Aunt Ruth
I’m so sad to say good-bye to my Great Aunt Ruth. Mommy and Daddy told me that she has gone to a nice place called “Heaven” and that she is in good company. Great Aunt Ruth was such a sweet person. I will always remember her smile and all her hugs, kisses and cuddles. She had great talent at making things, like my Winnie the Pooh quilt and my knitted winter hat. I will cherish these things always.

Mommy also misses her very much. Mommy says that Aunt Ruth was so patient and loving. She always knew exactly what to say to make you feel better. I keep giving Mommy hugs to cheer her up and I tell her not to feel sad as I think Aunt Ruth and Great Grandma are now having fun in Heaven baking apple pies together. I will miss you Great Aunt Ruth. I love you!

Weeks in Review Feb 17th to March 2nd

Happy Birthday to me!
So Mommy & Daddy planned a big party for me on my birthday weekend and we had cake, balloons and decorations. My grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends all came from close and far to help me celebrate. I wasn’t feeling my best as I had nasty cold, but I still had a great time. Check out the video of me having my first birthday cake.

Return of the Nose Picker
I’m starting to think there is a direct correlation between when I have a cold and when my Mommy turns into the “nose picker”. I mean I’m grumpy enough as it is because my nose is runny and I’m not feeling well, then comes along my Mommy to wipe and pick my nose. I came to realize that when I saw these “Kleenex” things in her hand, I need to hide my face and nose in my hands or in a pillow or Daddy’s shoulder. I even took it upon myself to sabotage Mommy’s ways by pulling all the Kleenex out of the Kleenex box, thereby eliminating the tools she uses to wipe my nose. It didn’t work, she had more Kleenex boxes in reserve….Mommy is very clever.

Doctor’s appointment
The day before my actual b-day, I went to the doctor because I was very unhappy with a nasty cold, fever and runny nose. After a quick look at me, she tried to hold me down and put a wooden stick on my tongue….I didn’t like that very much, so I pushed back and yelled. She told Mommy that I can’t be too sick as I had a lot of fight in me. But she did notice that I had an ear infection and she was happy that I came in when I did. I’m feeling much better now after a few good sleeps and restful days.
