Just when I thought I was out....

Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!

Well my last day of work was scheduled for yesterday, but plans have changed. Due to a number of issues and ongoing project deadlines my last day of work will now be early next week. I was so looking forward to starting my maternity leave and getting ready, both mentally and physically, for the baby's imminent arrival. Oh well, its best that I hand off my work responsibilities in good standing and make sure my replacements has all the details/training they need.

The baby is doing well and continues to grow. We have officially entered the 37th week of pregnancy and therefore we are considered "Full Term".

Other than a few last minute details like installing the car seat and washing all the baby's clothes/blankets, we are pretty much ready (as ready as one can be anyway).

Week #36

Blog entry #2 - The countdown begins

We are now in the 36th week and quickly approaching the estimated due date of mid-February. We anxiously, nervously and happily await the arrival of our new addition. We've learned that once Julia is at 37 weeks the baby can come at anytime. We are hopeful that the baby won't arrive before 40 weeks to allow us more time to prepare and for Julia to relax post work.

This week will be a busy one as Julia finishes work and prepares to take maternity leave. We are also planning a shopping trip Costco in order to pick up needed baby supplies (diapers, wipes, etc.).

Tom continues to work late nights and Saturdays in order to get ahead of the deadlines that exist with year-end financials, audits, tax returns, etc.

Welcome to our baby blog

Hey family & friends -

Welcome to our baby blog. We are in count down mode here with approximately 4 weeks to go before the "predicted" due date.

We are getting excited and nervous all at the same time. Tom is working away at the office trying to get ahead of the big time crunch deadlines that exist in February and March. He hopes he can clear enough off his plate so that he can squeeze in a few days off and work 1/2 days the last part of February.

We are also getting last minute details sorted with our "birth plan" and organizing our tiny condo space to make as much room as possible for the new addition.

Thanks to everyone for your support, e-mails, calls and prayers. We look forward to the baby's arrival and being able to share the news.
